Transmission Error Codes

General error code format:

* P (Powertrain) – Indicates a powertrain error
*X – Indicates a specific control module (eg ECM, TCM)
*Y – Indicates a specific type of error
* Z – Indicates a specific error code

Examples:

* P0700 – General transmission error
* P0715 – Input shaft speed sensor – malfunction
* P0740 – Hydraulic circuit – electrical fault

Common error codes and their descriptions:

* P0700 – General Transmission Error: Indicates a general malfunction in the transmission system.
* P0715 – Input Shaft Speed Sensor – Malfunction: The input shaft speed sensor is faulty or not calibrated.
* P0720 – Output Shaft Speed Sensor Malfunction: The output shaft speed sensor is faulty or not calibrated.
* P0730 – Incorrect Gear Ratio: The gear ratio does not match the programmed values.
* P0740 – Hydraulic circuit – electrical fault: There is an electrical fault in the transmission hydraulic circuit.
* P0750 – Shift Solenoid A – Electrical Fault: Shift Solenoid A has an electrical fault.
* P0760 – Shift Solenoid B – Electrical Fault: Shift Solenoid B has an electrical fault.
