Required materials:

* New transmission oil meeting manufacturer specifications (usually DEXRON-III or MERCON-V)
* Funnel for filling oil
* Hex key

Procedure:

1. Ensure safety: Set the parking brake and turn off the engine. Let it cool for at least 30 minutes.

2. Locate the oil drain plug: From underneath the vehicle, locate the oil drain plug on the transmission oil pan.

3. Place a drain pan: Place an oil drain pan under the drain plug.

4. Drain the old oil: Unscrew the drain plug with a hex key. Oil will begin to flow out. Let all the oil drain into the pan.

5. Install a new drain plug: After the oil has completely drained, clean the drain plug of any dirt or metal particles. Install a new drain plug and tighten it with a hex wrench to the manufacturer’s specifications.

6. Locate the oil filler plug: From the top of the vehicle, locate the oil filler plug on the transmission housing.

7. Add new oil: Using a funnel, pour new oil into the filler neck. The amount of oil to be filled is indicated in the vehicle’s operating manual.

8. Check the oil level: After adding oil, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then park the car on a level surface and check the oil level using the dipstick.

9. Add oil if necessary: ​​If the oil level is low, add a little oil until the required level is reached.

10. Check for leaks: Drive the car for some time and check for oil leaks underneath. If you find any leaks, repair them immediately.
