Datsun automatic transmission air filter housing

The air filter housing is the metal box that houses the air filter. It is located in the engine compartment, next to the engine. The air filter housing is designed to protect the air filter from dirt, dust and debris.

Location of the Datsun automatic transmission air filter housing:

* Datsun on-DO: On the left side of the engine compartment, next to the cylinder block.
* Datsun mi-DO: On the right side of the engine compartment, next to the battery.

Removing and installing the Datsun automatic transmission air filter housing:

Removal:

1. Open the hood and locate the air filter housing.
2. Loosen the clamps that secure the air ducts to the air filter housing.
3. Disconnect the air ducts from the housing.
4. Loosen the bolts that secure the air filter housing to the engine or airbox.
5. Remove the air filter housing.

Installation:

1. Clean the installation area of ​​the air filter housing from dirt and debris.
2. Install the gasket on the air filter housing (if necessary).
3. Reinstall the air filter housing and tighten the mounting bolts.
4. Connect the air ducts to the air filter housing and tighten the clamps.
5. Close the hood.

Note:

* When replacing the air filter housing, it is recommended that you also replace the air filter.
