Required tools and materials:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Flat head screwdriver
* Transmission sealant
* New automatic transmission rear oil seal
* Automatic transmission oil (if necessary)
Replacement instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Raise the vehicle on a jack and securely secure it to jack stands.
* Remove the engine protection (if equipped).
2. Removing the old oil seal:
* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission bell housing.
* Carefully pry the bellhousing housing with a flat head screwdriver and separate it from the engine.
* Remove the old rear oil seal from its seat in the bell housing.
3. Installing a new oil seal:
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the outer edge of the new oil seal.
* Insert the new oil seal into the socket in the bell housing.
* Reinstall the bell housing and tighten the mounting bolts.
4. Installing the bell housing in place:
* Apply sealant to the joint between the bell housing and the engine.
* Install the bell housing on the engine and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Connect the driveshaft to the automatic transmission.
5. Completion:
* Reinstall the engine protection (if equipped).
* Lower the vehicle to the ground.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission and add it if necessary.
