Correct use of automatic transmission

1. Starting the engine:

*Press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to Park (P) position.
* Turn the ignition key to start the engine.

2. Gear shift:

* Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to the desired position (D – forward, R – reverse, P – park, N – neutral).

3. Moving forward:

* Release the brake pedal and gently press the gas pedal.
* The car will start moving forward.

4. Reverse:

* Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to reverse (R) position.
* Release the brake pedal and gently press the gas pedal to start moving backwards.

5. Parking:

* Stop the car and press the brake pedal.
* Move the gear shift lever to Park (P) position.
* Pull the parking brake lever.

6. Neutral:

* Use the neutral (N) position only in the following situations:
* When the car is stationary, for example, at a traffic light.
*When towing a vehicle.

7. Engine braking:

* Take your foot off the gas pedal and allow the vehicle to slow down using engine braking.
* This helps save fuel and reduces the load on the braking system.

8. Driving mode:

* Most modern cars with automatic transmission have different driving modes, such as:
* Economy mode
* Sports mode
* Low gear mode
* Select the appropriate mode depending on your driving conditions.

9.Service:

* Check the automatic transmission fluid level regularly.
* Change the fluid and filter according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Avoid overloading or towing the vehicle over its permitted weight.

10. Precautions:

* Never change gears while the vehicle is moving.
* Do not press the gas and brake pedals at the same time.
* Do not use neutral (N) while driving at high speed.
* Do not park your vehicle on a slope without applying the parking brake.
