Required tools and materials
* Set of wrenches or sockets
* Flat head screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Pliers
* New drive oil seal (2 pcs.)
* Lubricant for oil seals
* Rags
Steps
1. Preparation
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Wheel removal
* Unscrew the wheel bolts and remove the wheel from the corresponding side.
3. Removing the protective cover
*Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully remove the drive guard from the transmission.
4. Disconnecting the drive
* Using wrenches, remove the bolts securing the drive to the wheel hub.
* Pull the drive towards you to disconnect it from the hub.
* Remove the drive from the gearbox.
5. Removing the old oil seal
* Using a flathead screwdriver, pry up the old oil seal and remove it from the transmission. Clean the transmission mating surface.
6. Installing a new oil seal
* Apply lubricant to the outer edge of the new oil seal.
* Press the new oil seal into the gearbox using a hammer and a suitable socket (such as an old oil seal).
7. Drive installation
* Lubricate the end of the drive that goes into the gearbox.
* Reinstall the drive in the gearbox and tighten the bolts securing it to the wheel hub. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
8. Installation of the protective cover
* Tighten the bolts securing the protective cover to the gearbox.
9. Wheel installation
* Reinstall the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts to the specified torque.
10. Battery connection
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Adviсe
*If you have a transmission jack, use it to support the transmission during drive removal and installation.
* Be careful not to damage the oil seal when removing or installing.
* Check the transmission fluid level after replacing the seals.
