Required materials:

* Automatic transmission engine oil meeting Chevrolet specifications (Dexron VI)
* New automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Tubular wrench
* Head set
* Drain plug key
* Bucket for draining oil
* Funnel

Procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Let the engine run for a few minutes and shift the automatic transmission selector to various positions to warm up the oil.
* Stop the engine and let the oil drain into the automatic transmission pan for 15-20 minutes.

2. Draining old oil:

* Locate the drain hole at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a bucket under the drain hole.
*Use a drain plug wrench to carefully unscrew the plug and drain the oil into a bucket.
* Allow the oil to drain completely.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

* After the oil has been drained, unscrew the bolts securing the pan to the automatic transmission housing.
* Carefully remove the tray.
* Be prepared to spill some remaining oil.

4. Cleaning and replacing the filter:

* Remove the old automatic transmission filter from the pan.
* Clean any debris or metal shavings from the surface of the pan and filter.
* Install the new filter into the pan.

5. Pallet installation:

* Clean the mating surface on the pan and the automatic transmission housing.
* Apply a new pan gasket.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the mounting bolts.

6. Filling oil:

* Insert a funnel into the oil fill hole on the side of the automatic transmission (usually on the top).
* Fill in the recommended amount of new automatic transmission oil.
* Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick (if equipped) or refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

7. Removing air from the system:

* Start the engine and shift the automatic transmission selector to all positions.
* Leave the engine idling for a few minutes.
* Recheck the oil level and add if necessary.

Adviсe:

* Change automatic transmission oil in accordance with the recommendations of your vehicle manufacturer.
*Use only oil that meets Chevrolet specifications.
* Do not overfill the automatic transmission with oil.
* Make sure all bolts and plug are properly tightened.
* After changing the oil, you may need to reset the automatic transmission adaptation using a diagnostic scanner.
