Chevrolet Cruze automatic transmission cooling circuit

1. Automatic transmission radiator

*Located at the bottom of the engine radiator.
* Serves to remove heat from transmission fluid.

2. Transmission tubes

* Connect the automatic transmission radiator to the automatic transmission housing.
* Transmission fluid circulates through them.

3. Automatic transmission housing

* The fluid passes through the transmission housing, where it absorbs excess heat from the transmission components.

4. Automatic transmission filter

* Removes impurities from transmission fluid.
* Located inside the automatic transmission housing.

5. Transmission pump

* Forces transmission fluid through the cooling system.
* Located inside the automatic transmission housing.

6. Automatic transmission thermostat

* Regulates the flow of fluid through the automatic transmission radiator.
* Opens when the liquid temperature reaches a certain level.

7. Automatic transmission temperature sensor

* Monitors transmission fluid temperature.
* Transmits data to the automatic transmission control module.

8. Automatic transmission control module

* Receives data from the automatic transmission temperature sensor and controls the automatic transmission thermostat.
* Monitors transmission fluid temperature.

9. Bypass valve

* Allows transmission fluid to circulate bypassing the automatic transmission radiator.
* Opens during cold starts or under high loads on the transmission.

10. Automatic transmission oil

* Liquid that absorbs and transfers heat, ?? and drive automatic transmission components.
