Required tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches
* Screwdriver
* Bolt puller
* Lift or jacks
* Transmission fluid container
* New transmission pan gasket
*Transmission fluid (as needed)

Precautions:

* Make sure the vehicle is parked and in the park position (P).
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Drain the transmission fluid from the gearbox.
* Raise the vehicle using a lift or jacks.
* Use wheel chocks to ensure safety.

Procedure:

1. Removing the shift wire: Locate the shift wire on the transmission housing. Disconnect it by pressing the release button.
2. Disconnecting the coolant pipe: Locate the coolant pipe running from the radiator to the transmission. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the tube. Seal the holes with plugs.
3. Disconnecting electrical wiring: Disconnect all electrical connectors from the transmission.
4. Unscrewing the torque converter bolts: Unscrew the bolts securing the torque converter to the engine flywheel.
5. Removing the starter: Remove the starter by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
6. Loosen the transmission bolts: Loosen, but do not remove, the bolts securing the transmission to the engine.
7. Installing the transmission spacer or pan: Install the transmission spacer or pan under the crankcase. A spacer or pan will support the transmission while it is being removed.
8. Unscrewing the transmission mounting bolts: Completely unscrew the transmission mounting bolts to the engine.
9. Transmission Separator: Carefully separate the transmission from the engine. Use the spacer or tray installed in step 7 to support the transmission and prevent it from falling.
10. Removing the transmission: Carefully remove the transmission from under the vehicle.

Note:

* Be careful when removing the gearbox as it is heavy.
*The process of removing the gearbox should be reversed when installing it.
