Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission oil (Dexron VI, about 4 liters)
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New automatic transmission filter (if required)
* Automatic transmission pan plug and sealing ring
* 10 and 12 mm wrenches
* 5 mm hexagon
* Container for draining old oil
* Gloves

Oil change procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Find the automatic transmission pan. It is located at the bottom of the gearbox.

2. Draining old oil:

* Place a container under the automatic transmission pan.
*Using a 12mm wrench, loosen the pan plug and allow the oil to drain.
* Carefully unscrew the plug by hand when oil starts to drip.
*Wait until the old oil is completely drained.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

* Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the remaining bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to damage the gasket.

4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter (if required):

* If your Aveo model requires replacing the automatic transmission filter, do it now.
*Remove the old filter and install the new one.

5. Cleaning the automatic transmission pan:

* Clean the automatic transmission pan of all remaining old oil and debris.
* Replace the pan gasket with a new one.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Apply a small amount of sealant to the new gasket and install it on the automatic transmission pan.
* Align the pan with the transmission and secure it with bolts.
*Tighten the bolts with a 10mm wrench to the specified torque.

7. Filling with new oil:

* Using a funnel, pour new Dexron VI automatic transmission oil through the filler hole on the side of the transmission.
* Fill in the required amount of oil according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
* Install the filler plug and tighten it.

8. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the pan.
* Remove the automatic transmission dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “min” and “max” marks.
*If the oil level is too low, add a little more and check again.

Adviсe:

* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000-90,000 km or in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
*Only use Dexron VI oil recommended for your vehicle.
*Be sure to dispose of old oil and filter according to local environmental regulations.
* If you are not confident in your abilities, seek help from a mechanic.
