Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission oil, type and volume in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New automatic transmission oil filter (if applicable)
* Funnel
* Hex/Torx wrench (size may vary depending on model)
* Ratchet wrench
* Key extensions
* Container for draining used oil
* Gloves

Instructions:

1. Prepare the vehicle: Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Warm up the engine: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Turn off the engine.

3. Raise the vehicle: Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and place it on jack stands.

4. Find the automatic transmission pan: Under the bottom of the car, find a square or rectangular metal pan attached to the bottom of the automatic transmission housing.

5. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Using a hex key or Torx wrench, unscrew the bolts securing the pan. Lower the pan carefully to avoid spilling oil.

6. Clean the pan and replace the gasket: Clean the pan of old oil and debris. Install a new gasket on the pan.

7. Replace Oil Filter (If Applicable): If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission oil filter, locate it inside the transmission housing. Remove the old filter and install the new one.

8. Install the automatic transmission pan: Lift the pan into place and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

9. Fill with new oil: Using a funnel, pour new oil into the hole for the automatic transmission dipstick. Fill with the required amount of oil specified in the instruction manual.

10. Start the engine and check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Turn off the engine and wait about 10 minutes for the oil to drain back into the automatic transmission pan.

11. Check the oil level: Remove the automatic transmission dipstick, wipe it and reinsert it. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.

12. Add oil if necessary: ​​If the oil level is low, add a little more oil through the dipstick hole.

13. Reset automatic transmission adaptation data: If your vehicle is equipped with an adaptive automatic transmission, you may need to reset its adaptation data. Refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for reset instructions.

14. Lower the vehicle: Lower the vehicle from the stands and remove the jacks.
