Required tools and materials:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Hammer
* Flat head screwdriver
* Round nose pliers
* New automatic transmission crankshaft rear oil seal
* Gear oil
* Oil pan gasket (depending on car model)
Replacement procedure:
1. Preparation
* Disconnect the battery.
* Raise the car and place it on stands.
* Drain the transmission oil from the automatic transmission.
2. Removing the automatic transmission oil pan
* Unscrew the oil pan bolts and carefully remove it.
* Clean the surfaces of the pan and crankcase of gasket material.
3. Removing the flywheel
* Mark the position of the flywheel on the crankshaft.
* Unscrew the flywheel mounting bolts.
* Carefully remove the flywheel using a hammer or puller.
4. Removing the old oil seal
* Using a flat-head screwdriver or pliers, carefully pry up the old oil seal and remove it.
5. Installing a new oil seal
* Lubricate the new oil seal with a small amount of transmission oil.
* Install the new oil seal in the seat, flush with the surface.
*Use a hammer and an appropriately sized mandrel to carefully tap the seal into place.
6. Flywheel installation
* Clean the contact surfaces of the flywheel and crankshaft.
* Set the handwheel to its original position.
* Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to the correct torque.
7. Installing the oil pan
* Install a new oil pan gasket.
* Reinstall the oil pan.
* Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts.
8. Filling with transmission oil
* Fill the automatic transmission with fresh transmission oil.
* Check the oil level and add if necessary.
9. Completion
* Connect the battery.
* Lower the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes to check for oil leaks.
* Check the transmission oil level on a hot engine and adjust if necessary.
