Required materials and tools:

* New Nissan Matic Fluid D/S gear oil
* New automatic transmission oil pan gasket
* New drain plug
* Automatic transmission filter (optional)
* Set of keys
* Container for draining old oil
* Funnel

Replacement procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Let the engine idle for a few minutes to warm up the automatic transmission oil.

2. Draining old oil:

* Locate the drain hole on the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Place a container under the hole to collect used oil.
* Loosen the drain plug with a wrench and drain the oil.
* Replace the drain plug with a new one.

3. Removing and cleaning the oil pan (optional):

* If you want to replace the automatic transmission filter or thoroughly clean the oil pan, you must remove the oil pan.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the oil pan to the automatic transmission.
* Remove the pan and clean its parts from residual oil and chips.
* If necessary, replace the automatic transmission filter with a new one.

4. Installing the oil pan:

* Install a new gasket on the oil pan.
* Install the oil pan on the automatic transmission.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts.

5. Filling with new oil:

* Locate the filler hole on the top of the automatic transmission.
* Insert a funnel into the filler hole.
* Fill with 4 to 5 liters of transmission oil.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick.

6. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gear lever through all positions.
* Leave the gear lever in the Park position.
* Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean.
* Insert the dipstick back and pull it out again.
* The oil level should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.

7. Completion:

*Add oil as needed to adjust the level.
* Clean up any spilled oil.
* Reset the automatic transmission oil change counter (if applicable).

Note:

* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 km or 3 years.
*Follow the instructions in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
* If you are unsure of your abilities, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
