General faults:

* Transmission Slip: Occurs when there is a loss of traction between the engine and transmission, resulting in increased engine speed and lack of acceleration.
* Kicks and jolts: Felt when shifting gears, due to problems with the hydraulic system or mechanical components.
*Transmission Fluid Leak: Visible red or dark red fluid leaking from the transmission.
* Shifter Failure: The transmission cannot be shifted to the desired position due to problems with the electronics or mechanics of the shifter.
*Transmission Overheating: The transmission may overheat due to a faulty coolant radiator or low transmission fluid level.

Sensor malfunctions:

*Speed Sensor: Detects vehicle speed and transmits data to the engine management computer. A faulty sensor can cause gear shifting problems.
* Throttle Position Sensor: Monitors the position of the accelerator pedal and tells the computer the power required. A faulty sensor can result in hard shifting.
*Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor: Measures the temperature of the transmission fluid and sends a signal to the computer. A faulty sensor can lead to incorrect transmission operation.

Mechanical faults:

* Clutch wear: The clutches in the transmission wear out over time, leading to slipping and loss of power.
* Solenoid failure: Solenoids control the flow of transmission fluid to change gears. A faulty solenoid can cause shifting problems.
* Differential Damage: The differential distributes power between the wheels, allowing them to rotate at different speeds. A damaged differential can cause a rattling noise or loss of traction.
