Basic car wiring diagram

Battery

* Positive terminal (+): connected to the vehicle’s on-board network.
*Negative terminal (-): Connected to the car body.

Generator

* Output (+): Produces current to charge batteries and power electrical appliances.
* Output (-): grounded to the vehicle body.

Starter

*Output (+): Receives power from the battery.
* Output (-): grounded to the vehicle body.
* Control wire: Activates the starter when the ignition key is turned.

On-board network

* Main fuse: protects the entire electrical system from overloads.
* Fuses and relays: protect and control individual electrical circuits.
* Switches and switches: manual control of electrical appliances.

Ignition system

* Ignition Coil: Generates high voltage for the spark plugs.

* Engine Control Module (ECM): Controls the fuel injection system.
* Throttle Position Sensor: Tells the ECM about the throttle position.
* Oxygen sensor: determines the oxygen content in the exhaust gases and adjusts the composition of the fuel-air mixture.
* Injectors: inject fuel into the engine cylinders.

Control modules

* Body Control Module (BCM): Controls lighting, locks and window functions.
*Transmission Control Module (TCM): Controls the automatic transmission.
