Tools:

* Phillips screwdriver
* 10 mm wrench
* Small flathead screwdriver or plastic finishing tool

Materials:

* T10 LED lamps (569/578)

Instructions:

1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will ensure safety while working.

2. Remove the gearshift panel. To do this, remove the two Phillips screws at the bottom of the panel and gently pull it up to release the clips.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector (wiring adapter) from the shift panel. Press the connector latch and pull it straight out.

4. Remove the plastic cover around the gear shift lever. Use a small flathead screwdriver or finishing tool to pry and release the clips that hold the cover in place.

5. Remove the four 10mm bolts holding the transmission control module in place.

6. Carefully remove the transmission control module. At this time, disconnect the shift cable by pressing the plastic clip and pulling the cable straight.

7. Locate the T10 bulbs under the transmission control module. They will illuminate the gear shift dial and the “P” indicator.

8. Using a small flathead screwdriver, carefully remove the T10 lamps from their sockets. Turn the bulbs counterclockwise about a quarter turn to unlock them, then pull straight to remove them.

9. Install new T10 LED bulbs into the sockets. Make sure they are inserted correctly and locked in place by turning them clockwise a quarter turn.

10. Reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly. Install the transmission control module, secure it with bolts, install the plastic cover and connect the electrical connector. Then reinstall the shift panel and tighten the screws.

11. Connect the negative terminal of the battery and turn on the ignition. Check that the new LED lamps are working properly by illuminating the shift dial and “P” indicator.

Note:

*If you are unsure of your capabilities, it is recommended that you contact a certified mechanic.
*LED bulbs are more durable and energy efficient than traditional halogen bulbs.
*LED bulb color may vary depending on your preference (eg white, blue, red).
