CVT resource

A CVT is a continuously variable automatic transmission that provides smooth and seamless gear changes. The resource of the variator is usually 150,000 – 200,000 km with proper maintenance and operation.

Factors affecting the life of the variator:

* Regular replacement of transmission fluid
*Transmission fluid quality
* Driving style (sharp acceleration and braking shorten the resource)
* Towing heavy loads
*Operation in low or high temperature conditions

Resource of a classic automatic transmission

The classic automatic transmission with torque converter has a longer service life, usually in the range of 250,000 – 300,000 km.

Factors affecting the service life of an automatic transmission:

* Regular replacement of transmission fluid and filter
*Transmission fluid quality
* Driving style
* Operation under conditions of high loads and temperatures

Comparison of CVT and automatic transmission life

In general, the resource of the variator is slightly less than that of a classic automatic transmission, but the difference is not significant. Both types of gearboxes require regular maintenance and care to ensure maximum service life.
