An automatic transmission (automatic transmission) with paddle shifters is a type of transmission in which gears can be changed either automatically or manually using paddle shifters located behind the steering wheel.

Working principle:

* Automatic mode: automatic transmission independently selects the optimal gear depending on speed, load and other parameters.
*Manual mode: Pressing the left paddle shifts to a lower gear, and pressing the right paddle shifts to a higher gear.

Advantages of automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters:

* Enhanced driving pleasure: Paddle shifters provide greater driver involvement in gear changes, which can be especially interesting during sporty or dynamic driving.
* Better control: In manual mode, the driver can select the desired gear for optimal acceleration, engine braking or maintaining speed on steep slopes.
*Safety: The ability to quickly downshift for additional braking can improve driving safety.

Disadvantages of automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters:

* Cost: Automatic transmissions with paddle shifters are usually more expensive than regular automatic transmissions.
*Limited Control: While paddle shifters provide a certain level of manual control, they do not offer the same complete control as a manual transmission.
* Driver Distraction: Some drivers may become distracted by manually shifting gears, especially in heavy traffic or when required to react quickly.

Paddle-shift automatic transmissions are most often found on sports cars and luxury cars, but they may also be available as an option on some other models.
