It is recommended to use the handbrake when driving a car with an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) in the following cases:

* Long stops on an incline: When parking on an incline, the handbrake helps hold the vehicle in place, preventing it from rolling away.

* Pulling off on a slope: When starting on a steep slope, the handbrake can be used to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards.

* Sharp Maneuvers: When performing sharp maneuvers, such as sharp turns or emergency braking, the handbrake can help stabilize the vehicle, preventing it from skidding.

* Automatic transmission malfunction: If an automatic transmission malfunction occurs and the vehicle cannot move, the handbrake can be used to hold the vehicle in place.

If possible, avoid using the handbrake while driving as this may damage the vehicle’s transmission. If you must use the handbrake, do so carefully and only when necessary.
