If your automatic transmission vehicle is stuck:
1. Stay calm: Panic can make the situation worse.
2. Check the surrounding area: Pay attention to any obstacles or uneven terrain that may make movement difficult.
3. Switch to Parking Mode (P): This will prevent the vehicle from moving further.
4. Chock the wheels: Try placing rocks, branches or other hard objects under the drive wheels to provide traction.
5. Rock the car: Rock the car a little back and forth and try to get the car out of the rut.
6. Use a sling: If you have a sling, have someone pull on the outside of the car to pull it out.
7. Use a Shovel: If you have a shovel, try digging around the drive wheels to create a more level surface.
8. Wait for help: If you cannot free the car yourself, call emergency services or call a tow truck.
What not to do:
* Do not park the vehicle in Park (P) on an incline.
* Do not turn the steering wheel too much as this may damage the steering mechanism.
* Do not accelerate the vehicle too quickly as this may damage the transmission.
* Do not attempt to push or pull the vehicle by hand as this may damage you or the vehicle.
