Transmission fluid type: Toyota WS
Filter replacement period: Every 160,000 km or 8 years (whichever comes first)
Filter Location: Inside the transmission oil pan
Filter replacement procedure:
1. Raise the car using a jack and place it on stands.
2. Remove the oil pan protection (if equipped).
3. Unscrew the oil pan drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.
4. Unscrew the oil pan bolts and carefully remove it.
5. Locate the filter element, which is usually attached to the top of the oil pan.
6. Remove the old filter element and install a new one.
7. Clean the contact surface between the oil pan and the transmission unit.
8. Reinstall the oil pan with a new gasket.
9. Fill with new transmission fluid to the level indicated on the dipstick.
10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
11. Check the fluid level on the dipstick and add it if necessary.
It is recommended to change the transmission fluid and filter at an authorized Toyota service center.
