Automatic transmission temperature sensor Kia Cerato 2

Location:
* Under the automatic transmission pan cover
* On the automatic transmission housing on the right

Functions:

*Transmission fluid temperature monitoring
* Data transfer to automatic transmission ECU

Signs of malfunction:

* Incorrect automatic transmission temperature readings on the dashboard
* Automatic transmission overheating
* Incorrect automatic transmission operation

Replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor

Tools:

* Screwdriver set
* Key for 10
* Funnel
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New automatic transmission temperature sensor

Replacement procedure:

1. Jack up the vehicle and install wheel chocks.
2. Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan using a 10mm wrench.
3. Drain the transmission fluid into a prepared container.
4. Unscrew the automatic transmission pan bolts and remove the pan.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic transmission temperature sensor.
6. Unscrew the automatic transmission temperature sensor using a screwdriver.
7. Install a new automatic transmission temperature sensor and tighten it.
8. Connect the electrical connector to the automatic transmission temperature sensor.
9. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts.
10. Pour transmission fluid into the automatic transmission through a funnel.
11. Remove air from the automatic transmission hydraulic system by starting the engine and shifting gears.
12. Check the transmission fluid level and add if necessary.

Note:

* It is recommended to replace the automatic transmission temperature sensor with an original part.
* When replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor, it is also recommended to replace the automatic transmission pan gasket.
* After replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor, you may need to reset the automatic transmission adaptations using a scanner.
