Purpose of the automatic transmission temperature sensor

The automatic transmission temperature sensor in a Hyundai Getz car is used to measure the temperature of the transmission fluid in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission). Information about the fluid temperature is transmitted to the automatic transmission control unit, which uses it to regulate the operation of the transmission.

Location of automatic transmission temperature sensor

In Hyundai Getz, the automatic transmission temperature sensor is usually located on the side cover of the automatic transmission, next to the transmission fluid filter.

Replacing the automatic transmission temperature sensor

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Determine the location of the automatic transmission temperature sensor.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
4. Remove the sensor from the automatic transmission using a 24 mm hex wrench.
5. Lubricate the O-ring of the new sensor with automatic transmission oil.
6. Screw the new sensor into the automatic transmission.
7. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
8. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Symptoms of a faulty automatic transmission temperature sensor:

* Incorrect gear shifting
* Automatic transmission slipping
* Delayed gear shifting
* Automatic transmission overheating
* Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) Illuminates

Reasons for malfunction of the automatic transmission temperature sensor:

* Sensor malfunctions
* Wiring break
* Malfunction of the automatic transmission control unit

Note:

* It is recommended to replace the automatic transmission temperature sensor every 60,000-80,000 km or in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* When replacing the sensor, use the original part or a part of equivalent quality.
