Parking position (P)
* From other positions, move the selector lever to neutral (N).
* Press and hold the selector lock button located on the top of the selector knob.
* Move the selector to position P.
Reverse gear (R)
* Make sure the vehicle is stationary.
* Press the selector lock button.
* Move the selector from P or N to R.
Moving forward (D and 2)
* Make sure the vehicle is stationary.
* Move the selector from position P or N to position D for normal driving or to position 2 for driving in a lower gear (for off-road driving or towing).
Neutral position (N)
* When driving: Move the selector lever from position D or 2 to position N.
* When stopping: Move the selector lever from position P or R to position N.
Ignition Trigger (IG)
* In the IG position without pressing the brake pedal: the IG indicator (green) on the instrument panel lights up.
* In the IG position, when you press the brake pedal: the IG indicator (green) on the instrument panel lights up and the gear selector is unlocked.
Note:
* Always press the brake pedal before changing gears.
* If the engine does not start in IG, move the selector lever to P and try again.
* Never shift the selector lever to P while driving.
