Step-by-step guide to replacing the AL4 automatic transmission solenoid valve
Required tools and materials:
*New solenoid valve AK4
* Set of keys
* Screwdriver
* Gasket for solenoid valve
* Transmission fluid
* Funnel
* Gloves
Precautions:
* Always park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool before operating.
* Be careful when handling hot components and liquids.
Steps:
1. Remove the negative battery terminal. Loosen the nut on the negative terminal of the battery and disconnect the terminal.
2. Drain the transmission fluid. Locate the transmission oil pan and remove the drain plug. Collect the waste liquid in a container.
3. Remove the transmission oil pan. Remove the bolts securing the pan to the gearbox. Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to damage the gasket.
4. Locate the solenoid valve. It is usually located at the front of the gearbox. It is made in the form of a small cylinder with an electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector. Press the connector latch and pull it to disconnect.
6. Unscrew the solenoid valve bolts. Remove the two bolts securing the valve to the transmission.
7. Remove the old solenoid valve. Gently pull the valve to remove it.
8. Install a new solenoid valve. Install the new valve into the transmission and tighten the bolts.
9. Install a new gasket. Install a new gasket on the transmission oil pan.
10. Tighten the oil pan bolts. Tighten the oil pan bolts, alternating their tightening to ensure even tightening of the gasket.
11. Fill with transmission fluid. Fill the gearbox with the required amount of transmission fluid. Use a funnel to avoid spilling liquid on the components.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery. Connect the negative terminal of the battery and tighten the nut.
13. Start the engine and check the fluid level. Start the engine and let it idle. Check the transmission fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
Adviсe:
* Use gloves to protect your hands from burns and cuts.
* Clean the contact surfaces before installing a new solenoid valve.
* Tighten all bolts to the recommended torque.
*If you are unsure how to perform this task, consult a certified mechanic.
