Key points:

*P (Park): Locks the transmission output shafts to prevent the vehicle from moving.
* R (Reverse): Engages reverse gear.
* N (Neutral): Disconnects the transmission output shafts from the engine.
* D (Drive): Enables normal driving mode, which provides automatic gear changes based on engine load and vehicle speed.
* L (Low): Provides increased torque at low speeds and is used for climbing steep grades or towing loads.

Auxiliary modes:

* M (Manual): Allows the driver to manually change gears using the automatic transmission selector.

Brake release function:
