Replacing an automatic transmission selector on a Nissan Almera Classic

Tools and materials:

* Set of socket wrenches
* Flat blade screwdriver
* New automatic transmission selector handle

Replacement procedure:

1. Removing the old handle:

* Carefully pry off the plastic cover of the selector knob with a screwdriver.
* Remove the two screws under the cover using a socket wrench.
* Remove the old handle by pulling it up.

2. Installing a new handle:

* Install the new handle on the selector lever and secure it with screws.
*Tighten the screws by hand and then tighten them with a socket wrench.

3. Lock button:

*Remove the plastic cover around the lock button on the handle.
* Press the lock button and at the same time insert the protrusion of the new handle into the hole.
*Hold the lock button and push the cap back into place.

4. Assembly:

* Place the plastic cover on the handle and screw it in place.

5. Checking operation:

* Move the selector lever through all positions to ensure that the new handle operates correctly.

Adviсe:

*Use the original handle or a high quality equivalent.
* Clean the selector lever before installing the new handle.
* Do not overtighten the screws as this may damage the selector lever.
