Diagnosis and elimination of causes of automatic transmission oil seal squeezing out on Pajero Sport 1:
1. Determination of the cause:
* Excessive Transmission Pressure: Transmission fluid problems, such as low levels or contamination, can cause pressure to build up inside the transmission.
* Lack of tightness of the automatic transmission breather: A clogged or damaged breather can prevent air and pressure from leaving the transmission.
* Seal wear: The seal can wear out or become damaged over time, causing transmission fluid to leak.
* Input Shaft Bearing Damage: A faulty bearing can cause excessive play in the input shaft, which in turn damages the seal.
2. Elimination of the cause:
* If the cause is excessive pressure in the automatic transmission, check the level and condition of the transmission fluid. If necessary, replace the fluid or correct other problems causing high pressure.
* Check the automatic transmission breather for blockages or damage. Clean or replace it as needed.
* Replace worn or damaged oil seal.
*If the problem is with the input shaft bearing, have it replaced by a qualified mechanic.
3. Installing a new oil seal:
* Clean the surface where the new oil seal will be installed.
*Apply a thin layer of sealant to the outside of the oil seal.
* Insert the oil seal into the hole using a suitable tool such as a sealing mandrel.
* Lubricate the oil seal with transmission fluid and reinstall the cover or drive shaft.
* Fill with new transmission fluid to the required level.
4. Check:
* After installing the new oil seal, start the engine and let the automatic transmission operate.
* Check for leaks at the oil seal installation point.
* If there are no leaks, drive the vehicle a few kilometers and check for leaks again.
Notes:
*Using the wrong seal or improper installation may result in repeated leakage.
*Always use original parts or seals that meet your vehicle’s specifications.
* For safe and reliable repairs, it is recommended that you contact a qualified mechanic.
