S tronic is the name of the dual-clutch automatic transmission developed by Audi.
Working principle:
The S tronic transmission consists of:
* Two clutches: One clutch is responsible for odd gears (1, 3, 5, 7), and the other for even gears (2, 4, 6).
* Two shafts: One shaft for odd gears and the other for even gears.
* Electronic control unit: Controls gear shifting.
When the vehicle is in motion:
1. The clutch associated with the current gear is locked.
2. The clutch associated with the next gear is already being prepared, but is not yet locked.
3. When the system detects the need to change gear, it disengages the current clutch and instantly locks the next one.
4. Gear changes occur without interruption in the transmission of power to the wheels.
Peculiarities:
* Smooth and fast gear shifting: The dual clutch allows you to change gears very quickly and smoothly without loss of power.
* High efficiency: Compared to traditional automatic transmissions, S tronic has higher efficiency, resulting in fuel savings.
*Sport mode: Most Audi models with S tronic have a sport mode, which allows faster accelerator response and later gear changes.
*Manual shift option: On some vehicles, S tronic also offers manual gearshift option.
Advantages:
* Smooth and fast gear shifting
*High efficiency
* Sports mode
*Possibility of manual switching
Flaws:
*Can be more expensive than traditional automatic transmissions
*May be more difficult to maintain
