Location of automatic transmission pressure sensor in Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ:

1. Open the hood and locate the transmission.
2. The pressure sensor is usually located on the automatic transmission housing, next to the pan.
3. It is a small electrical component with a wire connected to it.
4. The sensor can be identified by the “Transmission Pressure Sensor” or “TPS” marking.

Typical symptoms of a faulty automatic transmission pressure sensor:

*Transmission slippage
* Difficulty shifting gears
*Loss of power when accelerating
* Dashboard errors related to transmission
*Transmission fluid leaks

Replacing the automatic transmission pressure sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Find the pressure sensor and disconnect the wire from it.
3. Use a socket wrench of the appropriate size to unscrew the sensor from the automatic transmission housing.
4. Install the new sensor and tighten it using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
5. Connect the sensor wire.
6. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
7. Restart the engine and check that the transmission is operating correctly.
