Tools and materials:

* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Transmission fluid
* Set of keys and screwdrivers
* Funnel
* Clean rag

Steps:

1. Prepare the vehicle: Place the vehicle on a lift or jack it up. Make sure the vehicle is securely secured.
2. Drain the transmission fluid: Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan and drain the fluid into a pan or container. Screw the drain plug back.
3. Disconnect the automatic transmission pan: Using a wrench or screwdriver, unscrew the bolts or screws securing the pan to the automatic transmission housing. Carefully remove the pan and old gasket.
4. Clean the surfaces: Clean the surface of the pan and automatic transmission housing from the remains of the old gasket and dirt using a clean rag.
5. Install a new gasket: Place a new gasket around the perimeter of the pan. Make sure it is aligned correctly.
6. Attach the automatic transmission pan: Carefully place the pan in place and tighten the bolts or screws in the order specified in the vehicle service manual. Do not overtighten the bolts.
7. Fill with transmission fluid: Using a funnel, pour the required amount of transmission fluid into the automatic transmission.
8. Check the fluid level: Start the engine and let it idle. Check the fluid level using the automatic transmission dipstick. If necessary, add fluid to the specified level.
9. Reset adaptations: After replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket, you may need to reset transmission adaptations. Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for specific instructions on how to reset adaptations.
10. Check for leaks: Check the transmission pan and make sure there are no leaks. If a leak is detected, tighten the bolts or screws.

Note:

*Only use the gasket recommended for your vehicle model.
* Tighten the bolts or screws to the torque specified in the vehicle’s service manual.
* The transmission fluid level should be checked with the engine running and hot.
