Actions:

1. Preparation

* Park the Lexus on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Place a transmission pan under the vehicle to collect transmission fluid.
*Allow the vehicle to cool for at least 30 minutes before starting work.

2. Draining transmission fluid

* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan.
* Place the transmission pan under the drain plug.
* Using a socket wrench, carefully unscrew the drain plug.
* Allow the transmission fluid to drain into the pan.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan

* Locate the bolts securing the transmission pan to the transmission housing.
*Using a socket wrench, carefully remove the bolts.
* Carefully separate the automatic transmission pan from the gearbox housing.
* Be careful as transmission fluid may remain in the pan.

4. Replacing the gasket

* Remove the old Schrauben gasket using a gasket scraper.
* Clean the contact surfaces on both the automatic transmission pan and the gearbox housing with carburetor cleaner.
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new Schrauben gasket.
* Install the gasket on the automatic transmission pan.

5. Installing the automatic transmission pan

* Install the automatic transmission pan onto the gearbox housing.
*Using a socket wrench, tighten the bolts securing the pan according to the tightening diagram.
* Tighten the bolts to the specified torque using a torque wrench.

6. Replacing the pan gasket

* Remove the old pan gasket using a gasket scraper.
* Clean the contact surfaces both on the automatic transmission pan and on the pan cover.
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new pan gasket.
* Install the gasket on the automatic transmission pan.

7. Installing the tray cover

* Install the sump cover on the automatic transmission sump.
* Using a socket wrench, tighten the bolts securing the pan cover.
* Tighten the bolts to the specified torque using a torque wrench.

8. Filling with transmission fluid

* Pour transmission fluid into the automatic transmission pan using a funnel.
* Fill in the required amount of fluid as indicated in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

9. Checking the fluid level

* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Change gears several times.
* Check the transmission dipstick to check the fluid level.
*Adjust the fluid level if necessary.

10. Completion

* Remove the transmission pan from under the vehicle.
* Discard old transmission fluid and gaskets.
* Check for leaks and repair if necessary.
