You will need the following parts:

* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Sealant for gaskets
* Brake cleaner
* Rags
* Wrench or ratchet
* Socket heads
* Automatic transmission oil (if necessary)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the car. Place the gearshift lever in the ‘Parking’ position and apply the parking brake. Place the vehicle on a lift or use jacks and stands to provide safe access to the transmission pan.

2. Remove the pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the pan to the automatic transmission. Be careful as the pan may contain oil. Pour the oil into a clean container if replacement is required.

3. Clean surfaces. Thoroughly clean the surfaces of the pan and automatic transmission from old gaskets and sealant. Use brake cleaner and rags.

4. Apply sealant. Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the pan contact surface. Follow the sealant manufacturer’s instructions.

5. Install a new gasket. Place the new gasket on the pan and line it up with the bolt holes.

6. Install the tray. Place the pan in place, lining up the bolt holes. Hand tighten the bolts and then use a wrench or ratchet to finally tighten them.

7. Tighten the bolts. Torque the pan bolts to manufacturer specifications. Do not over-tighten the bolts.

8. Fill the automatic transmission with oil. If you have changed the automatic transmission oil, add new fluid. Check the oil level according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Check for leaks. Start the engine and let it idle. Check the pan and connections for leaks. If there are leaks, tighten the bolts or check the sealant.

10. Remove the car. Lower the vehicle from the lift or remove jacks and stands.

Adviсe:

* Use a high quality gasket sealant designed for automatic transmissions.
* Make sure the surface of the tray is clean and undamaged.
* Tighten the pan bolts gradually and evenly.
* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission after installing a new gasket.
*If you are not confident in your abilities, consult a professional mechanic.
