Automatic transmission pan gasket for Chevrolet Cruze
Required tools:
* Wrench set
* Socket wrench with ratchet
* Flat head screwdriver
* Metal cleaning brush
* Sealant for oil pan
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool for at least 30 minutes.
2. Draining transmission fluid:
* Install a fluid pan under the transmission.
* Find the automatic transmission pan drain plug and unscrew it using a socket wrench.
* Allow the liquid to drain completely.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Unscrew the bolts holding the automatic transmission pan using a wrench.
* Carefully separate the pan from the transmission using a flathead screwdriver.
* Remove the old gasket.
4. Cleaning Oberfl?chen:
* Clean the pan and transmission surfaces of old sealant and other contaminants using a metal cleaning brush.
* Make sure surfaces are clean and dry.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan gasket:
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new automatic transmission pan gasket.
* Place the gasket on the pan and align it with the holes.
6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts by hand.
* Using a ratchet socket wrench, tighten the bolts completely.
7. Filling with transmission fluid:
* Install a new drain plug with a new gasket.
* Fill the transmission with new transmission fluid according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
8. Checking the fluid level:
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick.
*If necessary, add fluid to the recommended level.
9. Resetting fault codes:
* If any fault codes occur while replacing the automatic transmission pan gasket, they must be reset.
*Use an OBD-II diagnostic scanner or go to an auto repair shop to reset the codes.
