Required materials:

* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* Sealant for automatic transmission
* Carburetor cleaner
* Brush or rag
* Bucket or basin
* Spanner or ratchet with 10 mm head
* Torque wrench (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preparation

* Park the car on a level surface.
* Set the parking brake.
* Let the engine cool down if it has been running.

2. Raise the car

* Raise the front of the car using a jack.
* Make sure the vehicle is securely supported on stands.

3. Drain transmission fluid

* Find the automatic transmission pan drain plug.
* Place a bucket or basin under the drain plug.
* Unscrew the drain plug using a spanner wrench or a ratchet with a 10 mm socket.
* Drain the transmission fluid into a container.

4. Remove the automatic transmission pan

* Clean the automatic transmission pan mounting bolts from dirt using a carburetor cleaner and a brush or rag.
* Unscrew the automatic transmission pan mounting bolts using a spanner wrench or a ratchet with a 10 mm head.
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission pan.

5. Remove the old gasket

* Remove the old gasket from the automatic transmission pan and transmission flange.
* Clean the seating surfaces of the automatic transmission pan and the gearbox flange from the remnants of the old gasket and sealant.

6. Apply sealant

* Apply a thin layer of automatic transmission sealant to the seating surface of the automatic transmission pan.
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the transmission flange mounting surface.

7. Install a new gasket

* Install a new gasket on the automatic transmission pan.
* Make sure the gasket is positioned correctly.

8. Install the automatic transmission pan

* Carefully install the automatic transmission pan onto the transmission flange.
* Tighten the automatic transmission pan mounting bolts using a spanner wrench or a ratchet with a 10 mm socket.
* Tighten the bolts evenly and to the specified torque (if specified in the repair manual).

9. Install the drain plug

* Screw the drain plug into place and tighten it using a spanner wrench or a 10mm socket ratchet.

10. Fill with transmission fluid

* Pour fresh transmission fluid into the automatic transmission through the dipstick hole.
* Add the required amount of fluid specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

11. Check fluid level

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear lever to all positions and return it to the park position.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick.
*Add fluid if necessary.

12. Lower the car

* Slowly lower the vehicle from the stands.

Notes:

* Use only automatic transmission gaskets recommended by the manufacturer.
* Do not overtighten the automatic transmission pan mounting bolts.
* Allow the sealant to dry completely before operating the vehicle.
* Check the transmission fluid level a few days after the job is done to make sure there are no leaks.
