Automatic transmission oil pressure sensor DP0 AL4

Location:

* On the automatic transmission valve body, located at the bottom of the gearbox.

Function:

* Controls the oil pressure in the automatic transmission.
* Provides information to the electronic control unit (ECU) of the automatic transmission about oil pressure.
* The ECU uses oil pressure data to regulate system pressure and shift gears.

Specifications:

*Sensor Type: Direct Current (DC) Pressure Sensor
* Sensitivity range: 0.5-6 bar (7.3-87 psi)
* Signal impedance: 0-5V DC
* Compatibility: DP0 AL4 automatic transmission used in Peugeot and Citroen cars.

Signs of a malfunctioning automatic transmission oil pressure sensor:

* Gear slip
*Hard gear shifts
* Gear shifts are too soft
* Emergency mode automatic transmission
* Automatic transmission fault indicator on the dashboard
* Oil leaks from automatic transmission

Diagnosis of sensor malfunction:

* Read trouble codes using OBD-II scanner.
* Check the sensor signal resistance using a multimeter.
* Measuring the oil pressure in the automatic transmission using a pressure gauge.

Sensor replacement:

* Disconnect the battery.
* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
* Unscrew the oil pressure sensor.
* Install the new sensor and tighten it.
* Install the automatic transmission pan and connect the battery.
* Reset fault codes.
