Checking the automatic transmission oil level in Nissan Almera N16:

Tools:

* 17 mm spanner
* Funnel
* Clean rag

Procedure:

1. Make sure the engine is warmed up to operating temperature.
2. Place the car on a level surface.
3. Open the hood.
4. Remove the automatic transmission fluid level dipstick. It is located on the front side of the gearbox and has a yellow knob.
5. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth.
6. Insert the dipstick into the tube until it stops.
7. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level.
8. The normal oil level is between two marks on the dipstick: “HOT” and “COLD”.
9. If the oil level is below the “COLD” mark, you need to add oil.

Adding oil to the automatic transmission:

1. Use a funnel.
2. Add oil in small portions.
3. Check the oil level periodically.
4. Do not overfill the automatic transmission with oil.

Notes:

* For automatic transmission in Nissan Almera N16, it is recommended to use Nissan ATF Matic-D oil.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level regularly, especially before a long trip.
* Automatic transmission oil should be changed every 60,000 – 90,000 km or more often in severe operating conditions.
