How to check the automatic transmission oil level in a Kia Sorento 2013:

Materials:

* Oil level dipstick
* Clean rag

Procedure:

1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up to operating temperature.

2. Stop the engine and move the gear selector to the Park (P) position.

3. Open the hood and find the automatic transmission oil level dipstick. It is usually located near the front of the engine and has a yellow or red handle.

4. Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.

5. Insert the dipstick back into the tube until it stops.

6. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level at the marks.

Normal oil level:

* The oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick marked “HOT” and “COLD”.
* Check the oil level when it is hot, after the vehicle has been started and warmed up to operating temperature for a few minutes.

Low oil level:

* If the oil level is below the “HOT” mark, it is necessary to add oil to the gearbox. Use only high-quality automatic transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer.

High oil level:

* If the oil level is above the “HOT” mark, the excess oil must be drained. To do this, contact a qualified mechanic.
