Required materials:

* New ATF oil (drain plug type)
* New drain plug
* New drain plug gasket
* ATF oil level dipstick
* Wrenches or sockets
* Oil pan
* Clean rags or paper towels

Procedure for changing automatic transmission oil:

1. Prepare the car:
– Park the car on a level surface and place it in the parking lot.
– Allow the engine to cool to avoid burns.

2. Raise the car:
– Raise the vehicle using a jack and place supports under the chassis for safety.

3. Find the drain plug:
– The drain plug is usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission oil pan.

4. Drain the old oil:
– Place the oil pan under the drain plug.
– Unscrew the drain plug carefully so as not to drop it into the pan.
– Allow the oil to drain completely into the pan.

5. Replace the drain plug:
– Clean the drain plug and seat on the oil pan of old oil and dirt.
– Install a new drain plug and tighten it to the torque specified in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

6. Add new ATF oil:
– Open the hood of the car and find the dipstick to check the ATF oil level.
– Measure the amount of old oil drained and add the same amount of new ATF oil through the dipstick.

7. Check ATF oil level:
– Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
– Shift the gear lever through all gears, holding each gear for a few seconds.
– Park the car and wait a few minutes.
– Pull out the ATF dipstick and check the level.
– If necessary, add ATF oil to the correct level as indicated in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.

8. Lower the car:
– Lower the vehicle from the stands.

Adviсe:

* Change automatic transmission oil approximately every 40,000-50,000 km or in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.
*Use a high quality ATF oil recommended for your specific vehicle model.
*If the ATF is black or brown, burns, or smells burnt, this may indicate an automatic transmission problem and should be taken to a mechanic.
* Monitor your ATF level regularly, especially after long trips or towing.
