Required materials and tools:
* Special automatic transmission fluid Dexron VI (approx. 8 l)
* Automatic transmission oil pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter
* Magnets (optional)
* Drain plug O-ring
* Tool kit (ratchet, extensions, sockets, drain pan)
* Diagnostic scanner or adapter
* Rags
* Gloves
Procedure for changing automatic transmission oil on Opel Zafira 2007:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Warm up the engine and transmission by driving for a short time.
* Stop the engine and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
2. Draining old oil:
* Open the hood and unscrew the automatic transmission filler cap.
*Pour approximately 1 liter of new Dexron VI fluid through the filler hole.
* Place the drain pan under the automatic transmission drain plug.
* Unscrew the drain plug completely and drain the old oil.
* Clean the drain plug and replace the O-ring.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Unscrew the automatic transmission pan bolts.
* Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to spill any remaining oil.
* Clean the surface of the tray and magnets (if installed) from metal shavings and dirt.
4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:
* Unscrew the bolts holding the automatic transmission filter.
*Remove the old filter and install a new one.
* Tighten the filter bolts.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Install a new automatic transmission pan gasket.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts.
6. Filling with new oil:
*Pour new Dexron VI fluid through the filler hole. Fill in 1 liter portions at a time.
*Check the oil level using a diagnostic scanner or adapter. The oil level should be between the “COLD” and “HOT” marks.
7. Cleaning the automatic transmission cooling system:
* Start the engine and change all gears (P, R, N, D, S).
* Stop the engine and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
* Check the oil level again and add if necessary.
8. Automatic transmission adaptation:
*Connect the diagnostic scanner or adapter to the car.
* Perform the automatic transmission adaptation procedure in accordance with the instructions of the scanner/adapter.
Notes:
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 50,000-60,000 km.
* When performing an oil change, it is important to use only Dexron VI special fluid.
* Be sure to clean the automatic transmission pan and magnets from metal shavings.
* After changing the oil, drive the vehicle for a few days and check for leaks.
