Materials:
* New Mazda ATF MV transmission oil (about 4 liters)
*Transmission filter (optional)
* 19 mm socket wrench
* Ratchet wrench
* Funnel
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Place the vehicle on a lift or move it down.
2. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
3. Turn off the engine.
4. Locate the transmission drain plug. It is located at the bottom of the transmission housing.
5. Place an oil pan under the drain plug.
6. Using a 19mm socket wrench, carefully remove the drain plug.
7. Drain the transmission oil into a collection pan.
8. Replace the drain plug and tighten it to 45 Nm.
9. Find the control plug. It is located on the side of the transmission housing.
10. Using a ratchet wrench, carefully unscrew the control plug.
11. Using a funnel, pour new transmission oil into the hole in the inspection plug.
12. Add oil until it begins to flow out of the inspection hole.
13. Tighten the inspection plug to 50 Nm.
14. Check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil level should be between the “min” and “max” marks.
15. Reset the oil change indicator if it is active.
Transmission filter replacement (optional):
1. Remove the transmission oil pan housing. It is secured with several bolts.
2. Carefully remove the oil pan housing from the transmission housing.
3. Remove the old transmission filter.
4. Install the new transmission filter in its place.
5. Install the oil pan housing to the transmission housing.
6. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts to 18 Nm.
Note: It is recommended to change the transmission oil every 60,000-80,000 km or every 4 years, whichever comes first.
