Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission oil Dexron VI, about 4 liters
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter
* Measuring container
* Funnel
* 10 mm hex key
* Pliers
* Gloves
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Preparation
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Warm up the engine to operating temperature and turn it off.
* Place a container under the car to drain the old oil.
2. Drain old oil
* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan and loosen it with a 10 mm hex key.
* Wait until the oil drains into the container. Be careful as the oil may be hot.
3. Replacing the automatic transmission pan
* Remove the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan to the transmission housing.
* Carefully remove the tray. Pay attention to the magnet located on the tray and remove any metal shavings.
* Replace the old pan gasket with a new one.
4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter
* Find and remove the automatic transmission filter located in the pan.
* Install the new filter into its slot.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts.
6. Filling with new oil
* Find the automatic transmission oil level dipstick and pull it out.
* Using a funnel, pour new oil into the transmission.
* Fill in about 3-4 liters of oil.
7. Checking the oil level
* Put the dipstick back into the hole and pull it out again.
* Check the oil level. It should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.
8. Topping up oil
*If the oil level is below the “HOT” mark, add a little more oil.
* Continue checking the oil level until it reaches the correct level.
9. Resetting the oil aging counter
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Turn off the engine, wait 30 seconds and start it again.
* Check that the “SERVICE REQUIRED” indicator on the instrument panel is no longer flashing.
10. Additional steps
* Make sure there are no oil leaks.
* Take a test drive to check the operation of the automatic transmission.
* Monitor the oil level and, if necessary, add it in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
