Materials:

* Automatic transmission oil Lexus ATF WS (approx. 4 liters)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter
* O-rings for bushings (2 pieces)
* Container for collecting used oil

Tools:

* Set of socket wrenches
* 5 mm hexagon
* 17mm wrench
* Torque wrench
* Metal brush
* Funnel

Replacement procedure:

1. Preparation

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature (90-95°C).
* Place the vehicle on a lift or jack it up and place it on stands.

2. Draining used oil

* Locate the automatic transmission pan under the car.
*Use a 17mm wrench to loosen the drain plug.
* Remove the plug and allow the used oil to drain into a container.
* Tighten the drain plug with a new O-ring to a tightening torque of 29 Nm.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan

* Using a 5 mm hexagon, remove the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the tray. Be prepared for the remaining oil to leak out of the pan.

4. Replacing the automatic transmission filter

* Remove the old filter from its place.
* Install the new filter and secure it with bolts.

5. Installation of new O-rings

* Remove the old bushing O-rings.
* Apply a little ATF oil to the new O-rings and install them in place.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan

* Install a new pan gasket onto the pan.
* Clean the interface between the pan and the automatic transmission housing with a wire brush.
* Reinstall the tray and secure it with bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 12 Nm.

7. Filling with new oil

* Pour 3 liters of new ATF WS oil into the automatic transmission through a funnel.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes while changing gears.
* Check the oil level and add more if necessary.

8. Checking the oil level

* Wait until the automatic transmission oil temperature reaches 40-50°C.
* Move the gear shift lever through all positions and hold each position for a few seconds.
* Return the gear lever to the “P” position.
* Pull out the oil level dipstick, wipe it and return it to its place.
* Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level. It should be between the “min” and “max” marks on the dipstick.

9. Resetting the oil aging counter

* After changing the oil, use the OBD II scanner to reset the oil aging counter in the automatic transmission ECU.

Note:

* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60-90 thousand kilometers or every 3-4 years, whichever comes first.
*Follow all safety precautions when handling hot oil and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
