Materials:
* Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) according to Hyundai specifications
* New transmission pan gasket
* Transmission filter (optional)
Tools:
* Set of keys and sockets
* Funnel
* Clean container for draining used oil
* Lift or jacks
Procedure:
1. Preparation
* Run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the gearbox oil.
* Turn off the engine and place the car on a lift or jack it up.
2. Draining used oil
* Locate the transmission pan.
* Unscrew the drain plug of the pan and drain the used oil into a container.
* When the oil stops flowing, tighten the drain plug and put on a new gasket.
3. Filter replacement (optional)
* Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan.
* Remove the pan and drain the remaining oil.
* Replace the old filter with a new one.
* Clean the tray and magnets from metal shavings.
4. Filling with new oil
*Using a funnel, pour new ATF into the transmission.
* Use the owner’s manual to determine the exact amount of oil.
5. Checking the oil level
* Start the engine and let it idle for about 5 minutes.
* Shift the gear selector through all gears, holding each gear for a few seconds.
* Place the selector lever in Park (P) position.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick or electronic sensor (on some models). The oil level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick.
* If necessary, add oil to the required level.
6. Final assembly
* Reinstall the transmission pan.
* Tighten the pan bolts to the specified torque.
* Lower the vehicle from the lift or jacks.
7. Resetting the oil change counter
*On some models, it may be necessary to reset the transmission oil change counter via the instrument panel menu or using a diagnostic tool.
Note:
* To ensure proper transmission operation, use only gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* It is recommended to change the transmission oil and filter according to the maintenance schedule.
