Materials:
* New gear oil (meeting your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications)
* New oil filter (if applicable)
*Transmission pan gasket (if applicable)
* Funnel
* Wrenches or ratchet with socket set
* Metal brush
* Degreaser
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Preparation
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
* Stop the engine.
2. Drain old oil
* Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan and clean around it with a wire brush.
* Place a container under the drain plug.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug with a wrench or ratchet. Be prepared as the oil will leak out under pressure.
*Allow all the oil to drain out. This may take a few minutes.
3. Replace the oil filter (if applicable)
* Remove the transmission pan by unscrewing the bolts holding it in place.
* Clean the pan of old oil and shavings with a rag.
* Replace the oil filter with a new one.
* Reinstall the transmission pan gasket if necessary.
4. Installing the transmission pan and filling in new oil
* Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the bolts. Tighten the bolts using a torque wrench to manufacturer specifications.
* Install the drain plug and tighten it.
*Using a funnel, pour new gear oil into the gearbox. Fill in the amount of oil specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
* The oil level can be checked using the dipstick.
5. Resetting the oil change counter
*Some vehicles require the oil change counter to be reset after changing the transmission oil. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual to see if this applies to your vehicle.
6. Check oil level
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift the gear selector to all positions.
* Stop the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the pan.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick and add if necessary.
Adviсe:
