Changing the oil in a Geely Emgrand automatic transmission
Required materials:
* Automatic transmission oil Mobil ATF 3309 (4 liters)
* Automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Sealant
* Measuring container
Tools:
* Key for 10, 17, 19
* Hexagon 6
* Funnel
* Clean rag
Oil change procedure:
1. Raise the car. Use a lift or pit to provide access to the underbody of the vehicle.
2. Drain the old oil. Place a measuring container under the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the drain plug using a 17mm wrench and drain the oil. Let the oil drain for 10-15 minutes.
3. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the pan bolts using a 10mm wrench. Carefully remove the pan and pull out the old automatic transmission filter.
4. Clean the tray and magnet. Clean the automatic transmission pan and magnet from metal shavings and debris.
5. Install a new automatic transmission filter. Install a new filter into the automatic transmission pan.
6. Install a new gasket. Apply sealant to the new gasket and attach it to the transmission pan.
7. Install the automatic transmission pan. Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts using a 10mm wrench.
8. Fill with new oil. Using a funnel, pour 4 liters of new oil into the automatic transmission.
9. Start the engine. Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes.
10. Check the oil level. Remove the automatic transmission dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks. Add oil if necessary.
11. Lower the vehicle. Lower the car and tighten the drain plug using a 17 mm wrench.
12. Update the on-board computer. Reset the oil change counter in your vehicle’s on-board computer by following the instructions in your owner’s manual.
Notes:
* The oil change interval for Geely Emgrand automatic transmissions is 60,000 km or 5 years, whichever comes first.
*Use only genuine Mobil ATF 3309 or equivalent.
* Do not overtighten the automatic transmission pan bolts, as this may damage the threads.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level regularly, especially after long trips.
