Required materials:
* New automatic transmission oil (about 8-10 liters)
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* New drain plug bolt
* Drain plug O-ring
* Funnel
* Socket wrench (8mm square)
* Drain plug key (17 mm square)
* Diagnostic scanner (for resetting the automatic transmission oil meter)
Execution order:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Stop the engine.
2. Draining old oil:
* Place a pan under the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Loosen and unscrew the drain plug using a drain plug wrench.
* Drain the old oil into the pan.
* When the oil has drained, replace the drain plug with a new one and tighten it to the specified torque.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Loosen and remove the bolts securing the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Remove the pan from the car and pour out the remaining oil.
4. Replacing the automatic transmission oil filter:
* Find the oil filter in the automatic transmission pan and remove it.
* Install the new oil filter and secure it in place.
5. Cleaning the automatic transmission pan:
* Clean the automatic transmission pan from old oil, dirt and debris.
6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Install a new pan gasket onto the pan.
* Screw the pan to the automatic transmission and tighten the bolts to the prescribed torque.
7. Filling with new oil:
* Fill the automatic transmission with new oil through a funnel to the level specified in the operating manual.
* Recommended oil volume is about 8-10 liters.
8. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and move the automatic transmission selector to each position (P, R, N, D, S).
* Stop in P and let the engine idle for 1 minute.
* Check the oil level using the control tube of the automatic transmission oil level dipstick. The level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks.
9. Resetting the automatic transmission oil meter:
*Connect the diagnostic scanner to the car.
* Find in the “Transmission” or “Automatic Transmission” menu the item “Reset automatic transmission oil meter” or “Reset automatic transmission oil change interval”.
* Select this item and reset the counter.
10. Checking the operation of the automatic transmission:
* Drive the vehicle for some time to allow the new oil to circulate through the system.
* Check the operation of the automatic transmission by changing gears and paying attention to the smoothness of the shift.
Note:
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 – 80,000 km.
* To correctly set the oil level, you must use a diagnostic scanner.
*If you are in any doubt about your ability to perform this procedure, consult a qualified mechanic.
