Materials:
* Oil for variator Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2
* New oil filter for variator
* New transmission pan gasket
* Funnel
* Container for draining used oil
* Wrenches or ratchet
* Torque wrench
Replacement procedure:
1. Warm up the engine: Drive the car for a few minutes to warm up the oil in the CVT.
2. Remove the crankcase guard (if equipped): It is usually secured with several bolts.
3. Locate the drain plug: It is located at the bottom of the transmission.
4. Place a container to drain the used oil: Place a container under the drain plug.
5. Loosen the drain plug: Using a wrench or ratchet, carefully loosen the drain plug.
6. Drain the used oil: Allow the oil to drain into a container. This will take some time.
7. Replace the drain plug: Clean the drain plug and install a new gasket. Tighten the plug using a torque wrench to manufacturer specifications.
8. Remove the transmission pan: Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan. Carefully remove the pan, holding it so that the oil does not spill.
9. Replace oil filter: Remove the old oil filter and install a new one.
10. Clean Pan and Magnet: Wipe the transmission pan and magnet to remove metal particles and sediment.
11. Install the transmission pan: Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the bolts with a torque wrench.
12. Add New Oil: Using a funnel, add the required amount of new oil to the CVT. See user manual for exact volume.
13. Check the oil level: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check the oil level using the dipstick or following the procedure described in the owner’s manual. Add oil if necessary.
14. Reset the oil change meter: If your vehicle has an oil change meter, reset it after changing the oil.
