Automatic transmission maintenance schedule during operation

Regular checks and maintenance:

*Checking the transmission fluid (ATF) level: Check the fluid level on the dipstick regularly and add if necessary.
* Replacing the automatic transmission filter: Replace the filter every 30,000-60,000 km or according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Changing Transmission Fluid (ATF): Replace ATF every 60,000-100,000 km or as recommended by the manufacturer. Consider operating conditions such as towing trailers or driving in mountainous areas.
*Check and Adjust Cables (for some vehicles): Check and adjust shift cables regularly to ensure smooth operation of the automatic transmission.

Long-term maintenance:

* Replacing automatic transmission solenoids: Replace solenoids every 100,000-150,000 km or when signs of malfunction appear (for example, gear slipping or hesitation).
* Replacing automatic transmission seals: Over time, seals can wear out, leading to ATF leaks. Replace seals to maintain proper pressure and tightness of the automatic transmission.
* Replacing Planetary Gears: Planetary gears can wear out under heavy loads or lack of maintenance. Replace them when symptoms such as drone, vibration, or difficult gear shifting occur.
* Automatic transmission overhaul: Overhaul may be required if there is a serious malfunction or excessive wear. This includes replacing all major components such as the torque converter, planetary gears and solenoids.

Tips for operating automatic transmission:

* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
* Do not tow extremely heavy loads or drive in mountainous areas without transmission cooling.
* Use transmission fluid of the recommended type and quality.
* Fix any leaks or problems with the automatic transmission as soon as possible.
* Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for maintenance frequency and replace worn parts promptly.
