Automatic transmission inhibitor sensor for Geely Atlas
Location:
The automatic transmission inhibitor sensor is located on the lower part of the automatic transmission housing, on the side of the gear selector.
Function:
The automatic transmission inhibitor sensor prevents the engine from starting when the gear selector is not in the ‘Park’ or ‘Neutral’ position.
Specifications:
*Sensor type: Microswitch
* Number of contacts: 2
*Maximum current: 10A
* Operating voltage: 12V
Symptoms of malfunction:
* The engine does not start when the gear selector is in the ‘Park’ or ‘Neutral’ position
* Errors related to automatic transmission on the dashboard
* Difficulty shifting gears
Replacing the automatic transmission inhibitor sensor:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Determine the location of the automatic transmission inhibitor sensor.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector of the sensor.
4. Unscrew the sensor mounting bolts.
5. Remove the old sensor and install the new one.
6. Tighten the sensor mounting bolts.
7. Connect the electrical connector.
8. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Note: Before replacing the automatic transmission inhibitor sensor, it is recommended to calibrate the gear selector. To do this, see the Geely Atlas repair manual.
